The Holy Order of Enoch was a council of 24 Elders, disciples of James Brighouse, who appeared in 1881 in Jackson County, Missouri, claiming to be the "Son of Man". He claimed that Jesus Christ was a Celestial Being, and that Celestial Beings had the power of reincarnation (to live multiple lives any planet). He appeared to William Smith (the surviving brother of Joseph Smith) and to others who were promised in blessings they would "live to see the face of the Savior upon the earth". The Order or Enoch was founded in Jackson County Missouri in 1884. He then appeared in Utah in 1886. He published "The Voice of the Seventh Angel" in 1891 and sent copies to the leaders of the various Restoration churches at that time: The Church of Christ (Temple Lot), the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (now called "Community of Christ"), and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as "The Mormon Church"). While in Salt Lake City, He was rejected by Mormon leaders, and denied a place to preach. So, He taught under a tree next to a railroad track ("rod of iron"). Those who wanted to hear Him preached had to follow the "rod of iron" to the tree. His disciples claim He worked supernatural miracles. He gleaned 12 disciples from the Reorganized Church and 12 disciples form the Utah Mormon Church, and he, and they, then vanished into oblivion. The Holy Order of Enoch was restored in the year 2005. The teachings and revelations of James Brighouse are contained in "The Voice of the Seventh-Angel" which is now available online. Click here to read it. He prophesied that He would be reincarnated in 1912 in Jerusalem.
The Holy Order of Enoch is NOT a "polygamist" group. We are absolutely opposed to polygamy! We are not an "apostate" group. We want Mormons to remain in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We simply have "further light and knowledge" than most Members have. We are faithful Members of the Church ourselves.
