The Angel Moroni Identified
Revealing the True Identity of the Original Author of
The Book of Mormon
& Revealing Some of the Literary Sources of the Work

"And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free!" (John 8:32)
My name is Darrick Evenson. I was born in 1960 in Los Angeles California. I was raised a Theosophist. I joined the Mormon Church in 1978; based upon "glowing" Reader's Digest articles about how honest, moral, and self-less Mormons were (I later discovered these "articles" were actually advertisements bought and paid-for by the Church and written by LDS Public Affairs). I left activity from the Mormon Church in 1979-81 because of anti-Mormon books I stumbled across in a local Christian bookstore near my home, but I returned to the Church after discovering that the most popular and successful Anti-Mormons lie and are really just con-men pretending to be Christians in order to make money from Evangelicals; similar to phoney "faith healers" who pretend to heal people but just take their money. But, the fact that Anti-Mormon con-men lie about the Church in order to make money does not make the Church true! The Church stands or falls upon its own claims that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet, and The Book of Mormon is a literal history of Jewish Christians who lived in ancient America.
About 18 months or so after returning to Church activity I became a Mormon missionary (California San Jose: 1983-85) and later an apologist (defender of the faith). I wrote "The Gainsayers" (Horizon Publishers: 1989) in response to "The God Makers" anti-Mormon film, and over the years I spent tens of thousands of hours doing research so I could defend the Church against anti-Mormon attacks.
My one goal in life was to defend the Church and find compelling evidence to prove that The Book of Mormon was historical and a literal history of the Nephites (a tribe of Hebrews that lived in ancient America from 600 B.C. until about 415 A.D.). But, after many years and tens of thousands of hours of research, in dozens of libraries and states, and after reading thousands of books and papers, I discovered that my quest had failed. It was very difficult for me to accept the TRUTH, but I finally did.
In brief, I'll contrast what Mormons had told me was "truth" with what I discovered was the TRUTH:
In 1996 I officially resigned from the Church. I never had a Church Court, and was never excommunicated nor disfellowshipped nor put on probation. I was never a fornicator, nor adulterer. I did nothing as a Mormon that would have warranted a Church Court. I resigned because I had discovered the Truth, and I finally had to accept the Truth. At first, that Truth was very painful and hurtful. But, over time, I truly discovered that the Truth will truly set you free!
After resigning from the Church I continued to study all the religions of the world. I studied in detail many hundreds of them in great detail. I was a Seeker of Truth. For a brief time I became a Baha'i, but I left that religion in 1998. Finally, I discovered Daheshism. In 2005 I became a Daheshist; a follower of Doctor Dahesh, the miracle-working Prophet of Lebanon. Daheshism does not require blind-faith or subjective "feelings" (such as feelings in the heart) as so many religions demand. Dahesh offered his "proof" via his thousands of supernatural miracles (as Jesus did). Jesus never said "Pray about what I have said and if you get a burning in your bosom you'll know that I have told you the Truth!" He never said that! Jesus offered His supernatural miracles as His "proof":
2 When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him,Jesus offered as His "proof" His supernatural miracles, and so did Doctor Dahesh. You can read about Dr. Dahesh and his supernatural miracles at:
3 “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?”
4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see:
5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor." (Matthew chapter 11)
This brief article will reveal the true origin of The Book of Mormon. This article will reveal the man who gave Joseph Smith the "Gold Plates" in 1827; the very same man who really wrote The Book of Mormon, and known to Mormons today as "The Angel Moroni". This article will reveal his true name, and will answer the question "why" he wrote the book.
Darrick Evenson
In 1820 a young man named Joseph Smith was confused about which church was true, so he asked God in prayer, and had a vision of God the Father and Jesus who told him to join none of the churches, for they were all wrong (i.e. in a state of apostasy).
Later, in 1823, the Angel Moroni appears to Joseph Smith in his bedroom, and tells him of a record (the Record of the Nephites) on gold plates buried near his home in the Hill Cumorah; a place where the Lamanites (American Indians) killed off all of the Nephites (white-skinned Israelites) in a final battle about 415 A.D.; leaving only a handful of survivors such as Moroni who finished the record and buried the plates in the Hill Cumorah (apparently by then swept totally clean of the remains of over 1 million slain Nephite dead of all ages and genders).
Joseph Smith attempts to get the gold plates, but is prevented. Finally, in 1827, he is allowed to retrieve the gold plates from a stone box in the Hill Cumorah. Also with the plates is the Urim and Thummim, and "the sword of Laban"; both ancient Jewish artifacts. Using the Urim and Thummim, Joseph Smith translates the characters on the gold plates into "The Book of Mormon"; with Oliver Cowdery acting as his scribe.
To get the new translation published as a book, Joseph asks Martin Harris, a local well-to-do farmer. Harris has doubts, and wants to see the plates (Joseph is showing nobody the plates). Harris is given a piece of paper with "charactors" from the gold plates (Reformed Egyptian) and told to take them to "learned men" in New York City. Harris does, and returns home satisfied (one of the learned men--Charles Anthon-- later said that the charactors were jibberish). Harris' wife is very unconvinced and needs more proof. Joseph then selects three men to be "Witnesses" of The Book of Mormon:
In early July 1829 Joseph brings Cowdery, Whitmer, and Harris to a field, and has them kneel down to pray. In the distance they see an "angel" leafing through what looks like gold metalic plates or tablets bound by three rings on a table. The angel (was he old, young?) is not described. Harris gets very excited, and gives Joseph the money to print the book; which is printed in English in 1829. The Book of Mormon goes on sale for $3 per copy (about $60 in today's money), but nobody buys it (the book is NOT easy reading, and many Mormons--especially women who have never gone on missions for the Church--have never read it!). Joseph gets a Revelation telling them to sell the copyright of the Book of Mormon in Canada to raise money, but nobody buys it. When asked why his Revelation failed, Joseph tells David Whitmer, "Some revelations are from God, and some are from the Devil!"
Martin Harris was promised that if he financed the priting of The Book of Mormon he would be "blessed", but Harris loses his farm and his wife divorces him. Yet Harris remains faithful until 1836 when what money he has left is lost in the Kirkland Banking failure (yes, Joseph and Oliver start a bank in Ohio that fails within months). After losing what money he had left, Harris then tells other Mormons in Kirkland, Ohio, that Oliver and Joseph were "drunk" during most of the translation process, and Harris is then excommunicated. Harris decries Joseph Smith as "a fallen prophet" and tries to start a rival "True Church of Christ" but it quickly fails. Years later, in 1870, destitute and penniless, he eventually returns to the Church in Utah after being promised a farm and small pension by Brigham Young. Whitmer and Cowdery are also excommunicated (in 1838) for "counterfeiting" and other offences--Cowdery claimed Joseph Smith was an adulterer-- but none of the Three Witnesses ever recant their testimony of seeing the Angel and the gold plates.
Joseph Smith chooses 8 other Witnesses, basically father of David Whitmer and all of David's brothers and a brother-in-law, and the gold plates are shown to them (no angel is present) and they feel and handle the plates. They become known as "The Eight Witnesses".
In 1829, the Angels John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John (the apostles) appear to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery and confer upon them the Aaronic and Melchizekek Priesthoods; necessary to restore the one true Church of Christ.
Joseph Smith becomes the "First Elder" and Olivery Cowdery the "Second Elder" of the "Church of Christ" in 1830; which eventually becomes known (in 1838) as "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"; known to most people as "The Mormon Church".
But all does not go as planned.
In 1838 Oliver Cowdery is excommunicated for "counterfeiting" and charging Joseph Smith with adultery (Cowdery claimed that Joseph had an affair with Fanny Algers--Joseph's 16 year old nanny). In 1848 Cowdery attempts to return to the Church in Utah, but dies of pneumonia in route.
In June of 1844, Joseph Smith is arrested for illegally closing down and destroying the press of the Nauvoo Expositor; a newspaper founded by William Law (first counselor in the First Presidency) and other former Church leaders after they discover Joseph is secretly practicing polygamy while at the same time publicly stating he is not a polygamist and that polygamy was a false doctrine. Law and other former Church leaders decide that Joseph Smith is now "a fallen prophet" and must be exposed. They plan to expose Joseph Smith in their newspaper (Nauvoo Expositor) and then have David Whitmer take charge of the Church (Whitmer was ordained in 1834 to take charge of the Church if Joseph "fell").
Joseph Smith is arrested and sent to Carthage Jail, in Carthage Illinois, to await trial. But he and his brother Hyrum are killed by a mob who storm the jail.
William Law and the others behind the Nauvoo Expositor claim they are threatend with death and flee Nauvoo and never look back. The Church then divides into factions; with the greatest faction following Brigham Young, a senior Apostle, to what is now Utah. By the year 2000, the Mormon Church has a full-time missionary force of 60,000, and about 13 million Members worldwide with about 10 to 20 billion dollars per year of untaxed income.
Of course, Mormons are NEVER told the following:
*Joseph Smith changed his First Vision account several times; the earliest edition making no mention of God the Father in the vision.
*Oliver Cowdery was a counterfeiter and accused Joseph Smith of adultery with a 16-year old nanny.
*Martin Harris accursed Joseph Smith of being a "fallen prophet" and accused Oliver and Joseph of being "drunk" during most of the Book of Mormon translation process (of which Martin Harris witnessed firsthand).
*Joseph Smith's enemies in Nauvoo who published The Nauvoo Expositor included his own First Counsellor in the First Presidency (William Law) and other prominent Church leaders disgusted by Joseph's duplicity of publicly condemning polygamy while secretly practicing it.
Mormons are never told any of these things by their leaders, and most of them trust "The Brethren" (Church leaders) as their would their own mothers...if not more so! They truly and honestly believe that it that "The Brethren" would never lie to them.
I believe that the true originator of The Book of Mormon was Ethan Smith (no blood-relation to Joseph Smith), a Congregationalist minister and popular writer in early 19th century New England. I will give you my reasons below.
In 1827, Ethan Smith, at the age of 66, was on a tour of Upstate New York (including Palmyra) promoting View of the Hebrews. It was customary at that time for travelling to wear a knapsack on their backs that contained their writing and eating utensils. A minister on foot could stop at almost any home and receive a free meal and lodging; provided he did not have a horse to be cared for for a day or two. So, for a minister, being on foot was a very inexpensive way to travel; since his room and board would have been provided for free; provided he had no horse to be cared for in a livery stable.
In View of the Hebrews (published 1823) is the following account in support of Ethan's view that the Indians were Israelites:
"It appears that in 1815, a Mr. Joseph Merrick, of Pittsfield, was plowing on a portion of his property known as Indian Hill, and at a point where the plowing was deepest he found a kind of black strap, about six inches in length and one and a half in breadth, with a loop of some hard substance at each end. He conveyed this strap to his house and threw it into an old tool box. He afterward found it thrown out of doors, and again conveyed it to the box. After a time he attempted to cut it, and found it hard as a bone. Eventually he succeeded, and found it was formed of pieces of thick rawhide, sewed and made water tight. On being opened it was found to contain four folded leaves of old parchment of a dark yellow color, covered with writing. One of these parchment leaves was torn to pieces by some of Mr. Merrick's neighbors, the other three were sent to Cambridge (Mass.) for translation. They proved to be written in Hebrew and contained the identical texts of scripture usually placed by the Jews in their phylacteries. This discovery of texts of Hebrew scripture found underground in such a place and under such conditions created considerable comment, and the suggestion was advanced that some Jew had buried them there."This account parallels that of Joseph Smith digging up the Gold Plates from a stone box on a hill near his family's farm in 1827. View of the Hebrews was published in 1823; the year Joseph Smith later claimed the Angel Moroni first appeared to him in his room. At that time, Joseph shared a room with at least 3 other brothers and perhaps sisters as well. Yet, only he saw the angel.
According to the widow of Solomon Spaulding, Sidney Rigdon (later chief advisor to Joseph Smith) and Spaulding were friends in Pittsburg in 1815-1816. That would tie all three men together: Ethan Smith, Solomon Spaulding, and Sidney Rigdon. Spaulding and Rigdon have both been credited in the past as being the "originator" of The Book of Mormon.
Ethan Smith died in 1849 at the age of 87 in Massachusettes.
The Gold Plates were purported translated by Joseph Smith mostly on a farm owned by the Whitmer family, in Harmony Pennsylvania. But, because of poverty, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery asked the Whitmers to let them return to New York State. So, in late 1827, David Whitmer took a wagon to pick up Joseph and Oliver, and the Gold Plates, and bring all back to New York. The translation of the Book of Mormon was completed at the Whitmer farm in Fayette, New York. This is where the Church of Christ was legally established in 1930.
The Angel Moroni=An Old Man With A Knapsack!
Mormons are taught today that Joseph Smith was introduced to the Angel Moroni in 1823; when Moroni appeared out of thin air in his room in Palmyra. Joseph described him as beardless, and wearing a white robe.
According to written statements of David Whitmer, and his brother John Whitmer, "Moroni" was an old gray-haired bearded man in a brown suit with a knapsack who appeared to them next to a barn and showed them the gold plates in 1827.
In an interview with Orson Pratt and Joseph F. Smith (later Church President) in 1878, David Whitmer told the following story:
"Our testimony as recorded in the Book of Mormon is strictly and absolutely true, just as it is there written. Before I knew Joseph, I had heard about him and the plates from persons who declared they knew he had them, and swore they would get them from him. When Oliver Cowdery went to Pennsylvania, he promised to write me what he should learn about these matters, which he did. He wrote me that Joseph had told him his (Oliver's) secret thoughts, and all he had meditated about going to see him, which no man on earth knew, as he supposed, but himself, and so he stopped to write for Joseph. Soon after this, Joseph sent for me (D. W.) to come to Harmony to get him and Oliver and bring them to my father's house. I did not know what to do, I was pressed with my work. I had some twenty acres to plow, so I concluded I would finish plowing and then go. I got up one morning to go to work as usual, and on going to the field, found between five and seven acres of my ground had been plowed during the night. I don't know who did it; but it was done just as I would have done it myself, and the plow was left standing in the furrow. This enabled me to start sooner. When I arrived at Harmony, Joseph and Oliver were coming toward me, and met me some distance from the house. Oliver told me that Joseph had informed him when I started from home, where I had stopped the first night, how I read the sign at the tavern, where I stopped the next night, etc., and that I would be there that day before dinner, and this was why they had come out to meet me; all of which was exactly as Joseph had told Oliver, at which I was greatly astonished. When I was returning to Fayette, with Joseph and Oliver, all of us riding in the wagon, Oliver and I on an oldfashioned wooden spring seat and Joseph behind us; while traveling along in a clear open place, a very pleasant, nice-looking old man suddenly appeared by the side of our wagon and saluted us with 'good morning, it is very warm,' at the same time wiping his face or forehead with his hand. We returned the salutation, and, by a sign from Joseph, I invited him to ride if he was going our way. But he said very pleasantly, 'No, I am going to Cumorah.' This name was something new to me, I did not know what Cumorah meant. We all gazed at him and at each other, and as I looked around enquiringly of Joseph, the old man instantly disappeared, so that I did not see him again. He was, I should think, about five feet eight or nine inches tall and heavy set, about such a man as James Vancleave there, but heavier; his face was as large, he was dressed in a suit of brown woolen clothes, his hair and beard were white, like Brother Pratt's, but his beard was not so heavy. I also remember that he had on his back a sort of knapsack with something in, shaped like a book. It was the messenger who had the plates, who had taken them from Joseph just prior to our starting from Harmony." (Interview of David Whitmer in 1878 by Orson Pratt and Joseph F. Smith)In 1827, Ethan Smith was 66 years old. John Whitmer (the first historian of the Church) wrote that Moroni appeared to Mary Whitmer, his grandmother) in 1827:"Soon after our [Joseph, Oliver, and David] arrival home [in Fayette], I saw something which led me to the belief that the plates were placed or concealed in my father's barn. I frankly asked Joseph if my supposition was right, and he told me it was. Sometime after this, my mother was going to milk the cows, when she was met out near the yard by the same old man (judging by her description of him) who said to her: ‘You have been very faithful and diligent in your labors, but you are tired because of the increase of your toil; it is proper therefore that you should receive a witness that your faith may be strengthened.’ Thereupon he showed her the plates. My father and mother had a large family of their own, the addition to it therefore of Joseph, his wife Emma and Oliver very greatly increased the toil and anxiety of my mother. And although she had never complained she had sometimes felt that her labor was too much, or at least she was perhaps beginning to feel so. This circumstance, however, completely removed all such feelings and nerved her up for her increased responsibilities.” (“Report of Elders Orson Pratt and Joseph F. Smith,” Millennial Star 40 (9 Dec 1878):772-73 as taken from Testimony of the Book of Mormon Witnesses by Preston Nibley)
"I have heard my grandmother (Mary Musselman Whitmer) say on several occasions that she was shown the plates of the Book of Mormon by a holy angel, whom she always called Brother Nephi. (She undoubtedly refers to Moroni, the angel who had the plates in charge.) It was at the time, she said, when the translation was going on at the house of the elder Peter Whitmer, her husband. Joseph Smith with his wife and Oliver Cowdery, whom David Whitmer a short time previous had brought up from Harmony, Pennsylvania, were all boarding with the Whitmers, and my grandmother in having so many extra persons to care for, besides her own large household, was often overloaded with work to such an extent that she felt it to be quite a burden. One evening, when (after having done her usual day's work in the house) she went to the barn to milk the cows, she met a stranger carrying something on his back that looked like a knapsack. At first she was a little afraid of him, but when he spoke to her in a kind, friendly tone and began to explain to her the nature of the work which was going on in her house, she was filled with inexpressible joy and satisfaction. He then untied his knapsack and showed her a bundle of plates, which in size and appearance corresponded with the description subsequently given by the witnesses to the Book of Mormon. This strange person turned the leaves of the book of plates over, leaf after leaf, and also showed her the engravings upon them; after which he told her to be patient and faithful in bearing her burden a little longer, promising that if she would do so, she should be blessed; and her reward would be sure, if she proved faithful to the end. The personage then suddenly vanished with the plates, and where he went, she could not tell. From that moment my grandmother was enabled to perform her household duties with comparative ease, and she felt no more inclination to murmur because her lot was hard. I knew my grandmother to be a good, noble and truthful woman, and I have not the least doubt of her statement in regard to seeing the plates being strictly true. She was a strong believer in the Book of Mormon until the day of her death."

While a student of Latin at Dartmouth College, Ethan Smith was taught how to write in shorthand Latin (called Torinian Latin). Joseph Smith wrote down the "Reformed Egyptian Charactors" and gave them to Martin Harris to show "learned men" (Dr. Mitchell and Charles Anthon) in New York City:
One may compare Tironian Latin (shorthand Latin) with the Reformed Egyptian charactors:
I spend tens of thousands of hours looking for evidence for The Book of Mormon, because I wanted to PROVE that is was TRUE!
But TRUTH is not like that. Truth goes it own way; regardless of our wants, like, or dislikes. The evidence that The Book of Mormon is NOT ancient history, but rather is creation of the early 19th century is absolutely overwhelming and would take several books of more than 500 pages each to document in full. But, take this for example: Lehi quoting Shakespeare:
"Hear the words of a parent whose limbs must soon lay down in the cold an silent grave from whence no traveler returns" (2 Nephi 1:14) |
"That undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns." (Hamlet, Act III, Scene 1) |
Joseph Smith probably never heard of Shakespeare! Ethan Smith, on the other hand, read Shakespeare at Dartmouth.
Many of the place-names in The Book of Mormon come from names of places in early 19th century Indian and colonial names:
BOOK OF MORMON & COLONIAL NAME
Lehi (1 Nephi)= Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania
Onidah (Alma 47:5)=Oneida, New York
Angola (Mormon 2:4)=Angola, New York
Morianton (Alma 50:25)=Morgantown, Pennsylvania
Jacobugath (3 Nephi 9:9)=Jacobsburg, Ohio
Alma (Alma, passim)=Alma, West Virginia or Alma, Quebec
Shilom (Mosiah 7, 9 passim)=Shiloh, Ohio
Kishkumen (Helaman 1, 2)=Kiskiminitas River, Ohio
Moron (Ether 7)=Morin, Quebec
Shurr (Ether 14:28)=Sherbrooke, Quebec
Teancum (Mormon 4)=Tecumseh, Ontario
Ripliancum (Ether 15:8)=Ripley, Maine or Ripley, New York
Finally, I will present the most compelling evidence of all. As said at the beginning of this article, Ethan Smith was a graduate of Dartmouth, and very interested in the origins of the American Indians, and the discovery of America. At that time, there were perhaps no more than a thousand books at the Darmouth College; perhaps a dozen or less on the discovery of America, perhaps 1 or 2 on the history of pre-Columbian America. One of the books on the discovery of America was the book by John Dee; donated to Dartmouth by Lord Dartmouth. Let us compare a passage from the Book of Madoc with that of the Book of Mormon.
"I Nephi, being born of goodly parents therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of the proceeding of my days". (1 Nephi 1:1) | "I, Madoc, born of goodly parents, was taught somewhat in the learning of my father, nevertheless having seen many afflictions, therefore I make a record in my day as a vagabond upon the face of the earth." (Madoc 3:1) |
Where did Ethan Smith get the names "Moroni" and "Cumorah"?
He got them from a book he read at Dartmouth called The Trial of Captain William Kidd and Others (published in 1701).
Moroni is the captial of the Comoros Islands (called "Camora Islands" in the time of Joseph Smith)
Dartmouth College library in the 1780s (when Ethan Smith was a student) included maps and a
book (The Trial of Captain William Kidd and Others published in 1701) about Captain William Kidd (a British pirate)
who was thought to have buried his treasure secretly
on the island of "Camora" near a small settlemen called "Moroni". Those islands are now called the "Comoros". The name "Comoro" means Co (Land) Moro (Fire) or "Land of Fire" in Swahili and "Moroni" in Swahili means Moro (fire) Ni (Place) or "Place of Fire" because the islands are very volcanic. |
The original 1830 edition of The Book of Mormon consistently spelled the Hill Cumorah as "Camorah". Before 1870 the Comoro Island were called the "Camora" islands because that was the Portuguese pronunciation of "Comoro" and the British sailors and map-makers followed the Portuguese pronunciation because they used Portuguese maps to create their own English maps.
"...a hill which was called Camorah." "...unto the land Camorah."
|
Ethan Smith was an Anti-Mason and preached against "secret combinations"; which was an early 19th century Yankee American nickname for Freemasonry. Hundreds of newspapers around the country, including the Wayne Sentinel and Palmyra Freeman warned people: "Beware of Secret Combinations!" (i.e. Freemasonry).
The Book of Mormon in many places warns the reader against "secret combinations" such as the "Gadianton robbers" who sware secret oaths and have secret signs, and wear lampskins about their loins. The Book of Mormon says that the Devil himself leads them "by the neck with a flaxen cord." (2 Nephi 26:22).
The Book of Mormon portrays the "Gaddianton robbers" as having lampskins around their loins and being a "secret combination" who are led around by the neck by the Devil with a flaxen cord. "And there are also secret combinations, even as in times of old, according to the combinations of the devil, for he is the founder of all these things; yea, the founder of murder, and works of darkness; yea, and he leadeth them by the neck with a flaxen cord, until he bindeth them with his strong cords forever." (2 Nephi 26:22)

In the first degree of the blue lodge the candidate is led around blind-folded with a flaxen cord (called a "cable-tow") around his neck (as a symbol that a man is "blind" and a slave to his own passions before he is initiated into the "light" of Freemasonry). The Candidate is taught certain secret handshakes and gestures, and is given oaths not to reveal the secrets of Freemasonry. At the end of the first degree, the Candidate is given a white lambskin apron to wear. All Freemasons whear lampskin aprons about their loin area.
This is from an early 18th century Anti-Masonic book showing an Entered Apprentice with a "cable-tow" around his neck knealing at a Masonic Altar. Notice the Masons in the drawing wearing the white lamb-skin aprons around their loins. |
The Origin of the word "Mormon" According to Joseph Smith: Joseph Smith claimed that the word "MORMON" comes from the English word "More" and the Egyptian word "Mon" which means "Good" and therefore "Mormon" means "More Good" Problems: Why would the father of Mormon, a Nephite prophet living about 400 A.D., when the English language did not exist (and the Nephites had no contact with the English), take the English name "More" and add it to the Egyptian word "Mon"? Also, there is no ancient nor modern Egptian word "Mon" that means anything close to "Good". Conclusion: Joseph Smith got it wrong on both counts!

The TRUE Origin of the word "Mormon" Ethan Smith had two purposes in life: to convince Americans to convert the Indians by showing them their Hebrew ancestry, and to warn Americans against "Secret Combinations" (i.e. Freemasonry). In 1826 a name named William Morgan, a Freemason, became convinced that he could make a lot of money writing an exposé of Freemasonry; revealing the secret rites of Freemasonry. He was living in Batavia, New York, not far from Palmyra. On Septebmer 12, 1826, Morgan was allegedly kidnapped by the Masons and killed. A body washed up on the shore of Lake Eire which many thought was that of Morgan, but it turned out to be that of Timothy Monroe; whom the Anti-Masons trumpeted as another Anti-Masonic martyr.
Timothy MONroe Morgan's scribe and assistant on the book project in Batavia was Oliver Cowdery; who later became a scribe and assistant to Joseph Smith in the "translation" of The Book of Mormon. The widow of William Morgan, Lucinda Moran Harris, later became a plural wife of Joseph Smith. Now you know the true origin of the word "Mormon". |
In the late 1700s and early 1800s, the Masonic Lodge was different than it is today. Many Lodges were "fronts" for what we would call today "gangs" involved in counterfeiting, robbery, kidnapping, thievery, even murder. Criminal gangs in early Yankee America "used" the Masonic Lodges as front organizations to help them operate in secrecy just as the Italian Mafia "used" the "P2" Masonic lodges in Italy in the 1970s:
"Propaganda Due (Italian pronunciation: [propaˈɡanda ˈduːe]), or P2, was a Masonic lodge operating under the jurisdiction of the Grand Orient of Italy from 1945 to 1976 (when its charter was withdrawn), and a pseudo-Masonic or "black" or "covert" lodge operating illegally (in contravention of Italian constitutional laws banning secret lodges, and membership of government officials in secret membership organizations) from 1976 to 1981. During the years that the lodge was headed by Licio Gelli, P2 was implicated in numerous Italian crimes and mysteries, including the nationwide bribe scandal Tangentopoli, the collapse of the Vatican-affiliated Banco Ambrosiano, and the murders of journalist Mino Pecorelli and banker Roberto Calvi. P2 came to light through the investigations into the collapse of Michele Sindona's financial empire." (Wikipedia: "Propaganda Due")Criminal gangs infiltrated the early Yankee Masonic Lodges because Masons were bound by secrecy, and also by oaths to protect each other no matter what. This lead to the Anti-Masonic movement in America by concerned citizens who saw what was happening.
The Anti-Masons were, in the early 18th century, very powerful, and even started their own political party called "The Anti-Masonic Party" which fielding local and even several U.S. Presidential candidates. They erected a monument to their martyr, William Morgan, which still exists in Batavia, New York:
The original name of The Book of Mormon was most likely The Record of the Nephites, but after the deaths of William Morgan and Timothy Monroe (both suspected as having been killed by renegade Masons), the name was changed to The Book of Mormon; with the charactor of "Mormon" in the book probably having a different name before 1826-7 when Morgan and Monroe were killed (?).
The true author of The Book of Mormon is Ethan Smith. He was "the Angel Moroni" that gave Joseph Smith the plates in 1827. He made a set of brass plates, and composed The Record of the Nephites in Tironian Latin script. Later, additional materials were added, probably by Sidney Rigdon (Ethan Smith and Rigdon had a mutual friend: Solomon Spaulding) as well as Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, and the name of the work became The Book of Mormon in honor of William MORgan and Timothy MONroe; two martyrs of the Anti-Masons.
When The Book of Mormon was first released in 1829, it was nicknamed "The Anti-Masonick Bible"; because readers could "obviously" then see that the "secret combinations" and Gadianton Robbers with white aprons referred to Freemasonry.
Why did Ethan Smith write The Book of Mormon?
In 1823 he asked the Christian Americans to convert the Indians; using his book Views of the Hebrews as a guide. Christian America did not listen. Therefore, his desire to convert the Indians to Christ was so strong, that he had to come up with a different way.
Ethan Smith wanted to do two things before he died:
1) Convert the American Indians to Christ by showing them their Hebrew ancestry.
2) Convince the American people of the evils of "secret combinations" (Freemasonry).
The Book of Mormon was a "way" to accomplish both of his goals.
Being the minister of the Cowdery family, Ethan Smith had known Oliver Cowdery from birth, and was the man who probably convinced Oliver to help William Morgan produce his exposé of Freemasony. After Morgan was killed, or disappeared, Oliver sought refuge (he was in hiding against the Masons) with the Smith family of Palmyra. When Oliver learned that his cousin Joseph claimed to be able to see "buried treasure" he no doubt would have shared this information with his mentor Ethan Smith. The three of them formed a "secret combination" (conspiracy) for the purpose of thawrting what Ethan Smith believed to be a devil-inspired "secret combination" (Freemasonry) that--in the view of Ethan Smith-- threatened to destroy Christian America.
In 1843, Joseph Smith became a Freemasony, and reached the degree of Master Mason (3rd degree), and even helped to establish the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. Ethan Smith must be rolling in his grave! Joseph Smith was killed at Carthage Jail in June of 1844; by a mob that was headed by Thomas C. Sharp, the editor of the Warsaw (Illinois) Signal; a man who had been prominent in the formation of the Anti-Masonic Party in Upstate New York. It is almost as it the Anti-Masons were "behind" the coming forth of The Book of Mormon (which preaches against Freemasony and polygamy both!). If so, then Joseph Smith's embrace of Freemasonry and polygamy (publicly decrying it but secretly practicing it) must have appeared to them as the ULTIMATE betrayal!
It was Thomas C. Sharp's editorials in The Warsaw Signal, that led to the assassination of Joseph Smith. Sharp wrote before the assassination:
War and extermination is inevitable! Citizens ARISE, ONE and ALL!!!—Can you stand by, and suffer such INFERNAL DEVILS! to ROB men of their property and RIGHTS, without avenging them. We have no time for comment, every man will make his own. LET IT BE MADE WITH POWDER AND BALL!!!...the Prophet [Smith] and his miscreant adherents, should ... be demanded at their [the Latter Day Saints'] hands, and if not surrendered, a war of extermination should be waged to the entire destruction, if necessary for our protection, of his adherents."After Smith and his brother Hyrum were assassinated by a mob on June 27, Sharp editorialized in the July 10 edition:
"Joe and Hyrum Smith, at the time their lives were taken, were in the custody of the officers of the law; and it is asked by those who condemn the act, why the law was not first allowed to take its course before violence was resorted to? We answr that the course of law in the case of these wretches would have been a mere mockery; and such was the conviction of every sensible man."Thomas C. Sharp was later arrested for the murder of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, but a non-mormon jury acquited him and all the others charged with the crime.
Most historians assume that Sharp was angry at Joseph Smith because the Mormons voted Democratic, and Sharp was a Whig (a new party which arose out of the Anti-Masonic Party). But, I believe there was another reason.
In 1843, Joseph Smith created the Endowment Ceremony; which was based upon both Freemasonic Rites and the Rosicrucian mystical rites of the Zionitic Brotherhood (an order of Rosicrucian monks and nuns) of Ephrata, Pennsylvania (Peter Whitmer, father of David Whitmer and 7 of the 8 Witnesses of the Book of Mormon) had once lived three miles from the Ephrata Commune). For example, the rites of Freemasonry include a Square and Compass on top of a Bible on top of an altar. In the Mormon Endowment, Mormon scriptures are placed on top of an altar which Mormons kneel and pray around, and the four symbols of Freemasonry (Square/Compass/Level/Tow-line) are placed on the veils that Mormons must pass through, and even on the undergarments that Mormons must wear much of the day and at night.
Also, before 1990, all Mormons had to "meet the Lord on the five points of fellowship at the veil" before they could enter the Celestial Room:
In 1842-43 (coincidentally: just after the death of Ethan Smith), Joseph Smith introduced many "new" and "strange" doctrines into the Church: such as the plurality of gods, plural marriage, and the Mormon Endowment Ceremony. In that secret ceremony, a Mormon is "washed and annointed" (sprinkled with water and olive oil), then clothed in white clothing (with a green apron), then must view a film or live play about the Garden of Eden story (no nudity), then prays around an altar with Mormon Scriptures on top of it, then must give certain secret "signs and tokens" before a white veil that has Masonic symbols on it. If done correctly, the Mormon may "pass through" the white veil and enter the Celestial Room: sybolic of entering the Celestial Kingdom and becoming a God or Goddess for eternity in the Afterlife. Before 1990, the Mormon Endowment Ceremony included "Five Points of Fellowship" before passing through the veil (removed in 1990).
The "Five Points of Fellowship" comes directly from Freemasonry where Masons are taught to greet each other "on the five points of fellowship":
The "Five Points of Fellowship at the Veil" was performed for over 130 years by Mormons, but was removed (without explanation) by order of the First Presidency in 1990. Why did they remove it? To even ask such a question would cause a Mormon to be threatened with a Church Court; which for the Mormon means a chance they will not become a God or Goddess in the eternities. You cannot ask such questions!
The "Signs and Tokens" (secret handshakes and jestures) that Mormons must learn in the Mormon Endowment Ceremony, come directly from Freemasonry:
The "Penalties" that existed in the Mormon Endowment Ceremony (removed in 1990) also come directly from Freemasonry.
Ironically, Ethan Smith was not sucessful in his endeavor. He did not destroy Freemasonry, but it grew and thrived, and many American Presidents have been Freemasons. Nor did The Book of Mormon convert the American Indians. Mormons made a few converts from the native Americans, but far far more converts were made by Catholic and Protestant missionaries; using the Bible alone.
But Ethan Smith did, indirectly, create a new religion with its own culture and doctrines and beliefs. He did not set out to do that, but that is what happened. History is sometimes stranger than fiction.
Would Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery be involved in "Pious Fraud"?
When someone tells a lie, or invents a story, for a "pious" reason it is called a "Pious Fraud". A good example of a "Pious Fraud" is the Donation of Constantine.
For about 30 years I studied early Christian history, and it is quite vast! Yet, in all the writings of the Christians of the first 7 centuries, there is NOTHING (not ONE mention) about Peter being the first bishop of Rome, nor about Jesus appointing Peter as His successor! NOTHING! Had Peter been the first bishop of Rome, one would "think" that some Christian writer would have mentioned that, but none did, not one, for 7 centuries! No mention is made until the Donation of Constantine; a 7th century document which claimed to be a 4th century document, which all (100%) Catholic scholars and historians now admit was a fraud! The document was created to give the Roman Bishops "claim" over all the Latin-speaking churches. It was a "pious" fraud! The document was a fake.
Yet, almost 1 BILLION people on earth today (Roman Catholics) believe that Peter was the first bishop of Rome, and Jesus' appointed successor. Why? Because that is what they are taught as children by men they believe are "men of God". That's why.
But, there is no truth to it! Simply isn't. Only one early Christian writer, named Irenaeus (a disciple of Polycarp who was a disciple of Peter) says that the Apostles (plural) appointed the Bishops (plural) to be their successors. Nothing about Peter being "chief" or Peter being the first bishop of Rome.
Nothing!
In fact, history shows that when Constantine the Great made Christianity a legal state religion in the 4th century, the bishop of Rome had "one vote" in the Catholic councils; just like every other bishop. No mention if made of he being the "Pope" or the bishop of Rome having "universal authority" over all of Christianity. What I'm telling you is this:
1] The notion that Peter was the first bishop of Rome was a PIOUS FRAUD; "invented" in the 7th century A.D. so that the Bishop of Rome could have power over other bishops and papal lands (read: RICHES!!!) as well!
2] At least 2 BILLION people have believed this FRAUD; because they were taught to believe it by men they supposed were men of God (their church leaders).
In like manner, TBMs (True Believing Mormons) believe that The Book of Mormon is true ancient history of a real people called the "Nephites". Why? Because that is what they were told by "men of God"; their church leaders.
If Ethan Smith is the original author of The Book of Mormon (probably assisted by others such as Solomon Spaulding and possible Sidney Rigdon), there is no evidence that he did this for money. In 1827, Ethan Smith was 66 years old! He would live until 87, but he had no way of knowing that then. At 66 he believed he was near the end of his life. He sought not riches. Rather, his motivation was "pious". He had two goals in mind:
1] To convert the Indians to Christ by revealing to them their Hebrew ancestry.
2] To warn the American people against "Secret Combinations" (Freemasonry).
He "hired" Oliver Cowdery and Joseph Smith to accomplish this goal.
Question: Would Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery be involved in fraud?
Answer: The evidence is overwhelming, and it is ABSOLUTELY THEY WOULD!
The evidence is ABSOLUTE that both Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery lied on many occassions. Joseph Smith lied about being a polygamist all during the time he had many wives; including the wives of other men, and even his own foster daughters (the Lawrence sisters). Joseph Smith invented the story of the first vision about 1838 (none of the Three Witnesses of the 8 Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, nor Joseph Smith's own mother and brothers ever heard of the First Vision Story until 1838).
Oliver Cowdery, after he left the Church in 1838, was involved in counterfeiting in Michigan with a bogus "Bank of Monroe". Cowdery was a counterfeiter and thief. That cannot be denied.
While Ethan Smith's motives may have been "Pious" the evidence shows that Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were "two for the money". Real Mormon history shows that time and time again they tried to make money from the Book of Mormon; first by trying to sell it for $3 per copy (failed), then by trying to sell the copyright in Canada (failed), then by establishing a the Kirkland Bank (failed), then by selling land to Mormon immigrants in Missouri (failed). When the last venture failed, Oliver Cowdery left the Church and became a counterfeiter in Michigan with the phoney "Bank of Monroe" and that scheme failed as well.
Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were the two founders of the Mormon Church: the "First Elder" and "Second Elder". Joseph Smith was alone when he claimed he was visited by Jesus (later with God the Father) in 1820. But Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery claimed that John the Baptist ordained them to the Aaronic Priesthood in 1829, and Peter, James, and John (as angels) ordained them to the Melchizedek Priesthood soon afterwards. It was Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery who claimed that on April 3rd, 1836, Jesus Christ appeared "on the breastwork of the pulpit" of the Kirtland Temple. Only Joseph and Oliver saw this vision; although many others were in the Temple at that time and reported they saw "nothing". David Whitmer wrote a book title d An Address to All Believers in the Book of Mormon wherein he said that he was with Joseph and Oliver on April 23rd, in the Kirtland Temple, and saw no vision of Jesus.
A number of people who had been at the Kirtland Temple dedication in 1836 later reported that the "wine" had been spiked with hard liquor, and many people had gotten drunk off of it.
The 3 Witnesses of the Book of Mormon (Martin Harris, David Whitmer, Oliver Cowdery) claimed an angel showed them the plates. Obviously the "angel" existed (there is no indication that Martin Harris or David Whitmer ever lied about anything), but was this "angel" a supernatural being or just an old man in a white robe?
Any Mormon historian will admit to you that Oliver Cowdery was involved in counterfeiting in 1838; fraud by deception! How then can we trust his testimony? Oliver Cowdery was not successful in the Bank of Monroe, nor being a lawyer in Ohio; which explains why he came back to the Church in 1848. Brigham Young promised him a high Church position (although it was a figurehead position with no power), and a pension for the rest of his life. Cowdery took the carrot, but, as would be his luck, died on the way to Utah.
Even though Oliver failed at everything he set his hand to, Joseph Smith did succeed in becoming financially successful in Nauvoo, Illinois. With tithing money he bought much of the land, and sold the land to new Church members; pocketing the profits from the sale. He owned much land in and around the town as well as a red brick store, a large boarding house (which had a bar which sold liquor before Emma demanded it be removed), and a print shop.
Joseph Smith also made sure that his family was taken care of. Joseph's father made a good living giving patriarchal blessings (one dollar per blessing--the equivolent of $50 in today's money), and his mother Lucy made a good living showing people old Egyptian mummies and papyrus which she claimed was king Pharoah (the one drowned in the Exodus) and Joseph of Egypt. The money to buy the mummies and Egyptian papyrus came from Church funds.
Known Cases of Fraud by Joseph Smith
The known cases wherein Joseph Smith deliberated perpetuated fraud are as follows:
1] Peeping/Money-Digging. According to over dozens of witnesses, most of them neighbors of Joseph Smith, from the ages of 14 to 21 he pretended to see buried treasure (buried by the Spanish or pirates) in a stone (called a "peep-stone"). Some ignorant farmers believed this, and would pay Joseph and other "money diggers" to dig for buried treasure on their farms. The money-diggers got a wage plus free room and board. According to Peter Ingersoll (childhood friend until he got married) and Isaac Hale (father-in-law) Joseph Smith confessed to them that he engaged in fraud. Joseph Smith's account that he once dug for a silver mine is not consisted with the testimonies of dozens of his former friends and neighbors.
2] Kinderhook Plates In 1843, a group of men in Kinderhook Illinois wanted to fool Joseph Smith and prove him a false prophet. So, they cut 11 bell-shaped strips of brass from a brass roll and etched jibberish onto them, then covered them with rust and buried them in a mound near Kinderhook, then invited a "Mormon elder" to come to teh dig and discover them. This was done, and the Mormon elder took the "Kinderhook Plates" back to Joseph Smith in Nauvoo. William Clayton, Joseph Smith's private secretary (and keeper of Joseph's daily journal) wrote:
"Pres J has translated a portion of them, and find they contain a history of the person with whom they were found. He was a descendant of Ham, through the loins of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and that he received his kingdom from the Ruler of Heaven and Earth." (On pages 41, 43, Millennial Star, Vol. XXI)Later, in 1879, one of the "discoverers" of the plates, William Fugate, came forth claiming that the plates were bogus and eteched with acid. He and a group of men wanted to "fool" Joseph Smith so they had a blacksmith fabricate the plates from a roll of brass and etch jibberish on them with acid. Fugate's statement was published in 1870, and, of course, the Mormon Church called Fugate a liar. In 1981, the Church had the one surviving Kinderhook Plate examined with an electron microscope in the hopes of proving Fugate a liar and the Kinderhook Plates authentic, but the testing backfired. The electron microscrope and new metallurgical testing proved that the plates were made out of common 19th century rolled brass and etched with acid; exactly as W. Fugate had testified in 1879. The plates were BOGUS! The true irony is that tithing money from Members paid for the tests that proved the plates bogus!
Since the Kinderhook Plates were BOGUS (manufactured), with jibberish on them, there is no way that Joseph Smith could have "translated a portion" of them; finding them to be a record of a Jaredite back to Ham. William Clayton was Joseph Smith's personal secretary, and kept his private journal. The quotation about Joseph Smith "translating a portion" of the Kinderhook plates comes from Joseph's own private journal as he dictated the words to William Clayton.
3] The Book of Abraham
In 1838 Joseph Smith bought some Egyptian papyrus and mummies from an Englishman named Michael Chandler; who inherited the mummies and papyrus from a deceased Italian relative (Antonio Lebolo) who had found them in Egypt. Joseph claimed the mummies were Pharoah (the one drowned in the Exodus) and Joseph of Egypt. He claimed the papyrus contained the Book of Abraham (written by his own hand) and the Writings of Joseph of Egypt. Joseph Smith claimed to translate some of the papyrus into The Book of Abraham. In 1912, American Egyptologists claimed that Joseph Smith's papyrus had nothing to do with Abraham, but was a common funeral text buried with the dead called The Book of Breathings; a document to help the soul of the dead in the Afterlife. The Joseph Smith Papyrus was re-discovered in 1967 at the University of Chicago, and donated by them to the Church. There is no mention of Abraham or Joseph at all the Papyrus; which mentions a dead man named Hor and pagan Egyptian gods such as Osiris, Isis, Anubis, Ma'at, etc.
In 1912, Egyptologists were made aware of the Book of Abraham by an Anti-Mormon minister in Utah. Here is what they wrote:
Egyptologist Dr. James H. Breasted, of the University of Chicago noted:
"... these three facsimiles of Egyptian documents in the ‘Pearl of Great Price’ depict the most common objects in the Mortuary religion of Egypt. Joseph Smith’s interpretations of them as part of a unique revelation through Abraham, therefore, very clearly demonstrates that he was totally unacquainted with the significance of these documents and absolutely ignorant of the simplest facts of Egyptian writing and civilization."Dr. W.M. Flinders Petrie of London University wrote:
"It may be safely said that there is not one single word that is true in these explanations"Dr. A.H. Sayce, Oxford professor of Egyptology,
“It is difficult to deal seriously with Joseph Smith’s impudent fraud.... Smith has turned the goddess [Isis in Facsimile No. 3] into a king and Osiris into Abraham.”
These Egyptologists were commenting on Joseph Smith's translations and interpretations from The Book of Breathings; which Joseph Smith identified as The Book of Abraham, and "written by his own hand".
This is the actual scene from the Book of Breathings were the god Anubis (black jackle-headed god) prepares the dead man's body while the dead man pleads to Horus (hawk-god) to receive his life-force (semen) so that he may live in the afterlife. The drawing on Joseph Smith's papyrus was damaged, so Joseph "filled in" the damaged portions incorrectly to make it appear an Egyptian priest had Abraham on an altar in order to sacrifice him. Egyptologists concluded in 1912 that Joseph Smith was a fraud; based upon his "translations" of the Book of Abraham.
Peter Ingersoll was the boyhood friend of Joseph Smith, and continued to be close to him until Joseph moved to Ohio in 1832. Ingersoll once provided an affidavit (sworn on the Bible before a Justice of the Peace) in which he testified:
"In the month of August, 1827, I was hired by Joseph Smith, Jr. to go to Pennsylvania, to move his wife's household furniture up to Manchester, where his wife then was. When we arrived at Mr. Hale's, in Harmony, Pa. from which place he had taken his wife, a scene presented itself, truly affecting. His father-in-law (Mr. Hale) addressed Joseph, in a flood of tears: "You have stolen my daughter and married her. I had much rather have followed her to her grave. You spend your time in digging for money -- pretend to see in a stone, and thus try to deceive people." Joseph wept, and acknowledged he could not see in a stone now, nor never could; and that his former pretensions in that respect, were all false. He then promised to give up his old habits of digging for money and looking into stones. Joseph told me on his return, that he intended to keep the promise which he had made to his father-in-law; "but," said he, "it will be hard for me, for they will all oppose, as they want me to look in the stone for them to dig money." And in fact it was as he predicted. They urged him, day after day, to resume his old practice of looking in the stone." (Affidavit of Peter Ingersoll, sworn before a Justice of the Peace, 9th of December 1833)Peter Ingersoll was Joseph Smith's next-door neighbor and the boyhood friend, and their close friendship continued until Joseph Smith got married and moved away. He's just told you that Joseph acknowleged fraud for money!
And Isaac Hale, the father-in-law of Joseph Smith, later gives an affidavit (also sworn on the Bible) independent of Ingersoll's where he confirms the same conversation where Joseph admits he lied about being able to see buried treasure in his peep stone!
Joseph Smith was able to become a semi-wealthy land and business owner in Nauvoo Illinois, and provide for his father and mother and brothers and unmarried sisters.
But, all was not to last! Joseph's success in wives (33 in total) and finances was cut short by his murder at Carthage, Illinois, in June of 1844. Joseph Smith was arrested because he ordered the printing press of the Nauvoo Expositor destroyed in the street because the newspaper had exposed him as a secret polygamist.
Olivery Cowdery was less fortunate, having failed in a counterfeiting scheme in Michigan (Bank of Monroe), then turned to being lawyer in Ohio, but was not successful at it. Finally, totally broke, he returned to the Church after Brigham Young promised to support him finally and make him a special "Apostle to the Gentiles". But Oliver, always having bad luck, died in Missouri (in the home of David Whitmer) on his way to Utah, of pneumonia.
Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were "two for the money". It's that simple. They were two religious con men who lied in the name of God in order to get gain. The world is full of such people! Since Joseph Smith, over 200 Mormons have claimed that Jesus or Moroni or the Three Nephites or God the Father has appeared to them and "ordained" them to restore the "true Church" to the earth!
Pious Frauds: Fraud in the Name of God!
The world is FULL of religious (pious) frauds! Some have sincere motives, but most do not. Most of the professional Anti-Mormons who make lots of money each year preaching against the Mormon Church are religious frauds. Many of them have been exposed as such in a series of books titled They Lie in Wait To Deceive. I came to discover that Evangelical ministers do not care in the least if these men lie! I was told many times "Sure, they have some problems, but they're doing too much good for the Body of Christ!" That means, they are making money for the minister!
In 1981 I returned to the Church, NOT because I could refute all anti-Mormon claims, but because I thought this way: "Well, the Anti-Mormons have LIED about many things, so the Church must be TRUE!"
Pretty naïve wasn't I? But Evangelicals think like this: "Well, the Mormon Church is a fraud, so WHAT HARM IS THERE is one tells lies about it? It's for the good of the Body of Christ!"
The world is FULL of religious frauds! In India, there are perhaps 50,000 fradulent gurus who prey upon the ignorant. In the U.S., there are thousands of phoney "faith healers" and many T.V. evangelists who also prey upon the ignorant and guillible; lying through their teeth for MONEY and SEX and POWER!
Remember that: MONEY/SEX/POWER! That is the basis of all fraud, including religious fraud.
The world is FULL of men (and sometimes women) who claim God or Jesus or Mary or some Angel has appeared to them and appointed them to some great divine mission.
For example, in 1969, a man named Clemente Dominguez y Gomez, claimed that Mary and Jesus appeared to him in a vision, and commanded him to restore the True Catholic Chuch (sound familiar?); which was in a "state of apostasy" since the Vatican II Council that changed much of Roman Catholic doctrine and practice. Clemente formed his own "Holy Catholic Palmarian Church" in Palmar de Troyas, Spain (near Seville) and claimed that angels ordained him the rightful "Pope" and Successor of St. Peter (does this sound familiar?). Later, many of his bishops and priests left the Church after it was revealed that while "Pope" Clemente had sex with a number of Palmarian nuns (sound familiar?) and even a few priests! The dissenters call Clemente a "fallen Pope"; just as the Nauvoo dissenters called Joseph Smith a "fallen prophet" in Nauvoo after they discovered he had 33 "wives" (including women married to other men and his own foster daughters) while Joseph publicly denied he was a polygamist and publicly decried polygamy!
Sound familiar?
But, just like TBMs (true believing Mormons), the TBPs (true believing Palmarians) will NEVER leave the Palmarian Church regardless of the hypocrisy of its founder. Why? Because Jesus and Mary appointed him as Pope!
Is it not time to open your eyes and smell the java?
But I have a Testimony that The Book of Mormon is TRUE!
The Book of Mormon teaches "truth" in that it takes those truths directly from the Bible.
Your "testimony" of the "truth" about The Book of Mormon is based upon its "truths" which are taken from the Bible!
In other words, while The Book of Mormon contains many "truths", these "truths" are taken bodily from the King James Bible! These "truths" did not originate with The Book of Mormon. If you claim to have a "testimony" that The Book of Mormon is "true history" then I must beg to differ!
The book itself is not "historical"; it was produced in the early 19th century as a "pious fraud" by a man or group of men who wanted to unite the Christian sects into one "Church of Christ" and convert the Indians and destroy "secret combinations" (Freemasonry) all at the same time.
It can be proved that The Book of Mormon is NOT historical, for example:
1] The animals mentioned in the BOM (asses, oxen, cattle, goats, and rideable horses) did not exist in the Americas before the Spanish arrived. Ancient America had a very small (the size of a deer) unrideable horse that was used by food and went extinct about 10,000 years ago.
2] American Indians have NO (zero) Semitic DNA in them; none going back tens of thousands of years. Their DNA is Asian, from Siberia; as is their languge, culture and religion. It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to even be "patially" descended from Lehi and Ishmael!
3] Over 100 years of archaeology in North and Central and South America has not provided "one" item to support the Book of Mormon; rather 100% of all evidence gathered is against the BOM being historical.
4] The author of The Book of Mormon had some knowledge of Hebrew and Greek, but evidence shows that the Book of Mormon reproduces translation errors found in the King James Bible (first published in 1611); something a Nephite prophet could __NOT__ have done.
5] There are many internal evidences that PROVE that The Book of Mormon is NOT ancient history; such as Ether and II Nephi and Alma and Moroni quoting from Paul's Epistles to the Corinthians:
I Corinthians 1:11: For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren...that there are contentions among you. | Moroni 8:4 And now, my son, I speak unto you concerning that which grieveth me exceedingly; for it grieveth me that there should disputations rise among you. |
I Corinthians 3:15 ...but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. | I Nephi 22:17 ...for thus saith the prophet, they shall be saved, even if it so be as by fire. |
I Corinthians 3:19 ...the wisdom of this world is foolishness... | II Nephi 9:28 ...wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness... |
I Corinthians 10:13 ...who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able...that ye may be able to bear it. | Alma 13:28 ...that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear... |
I Corinthians 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself... | III Nephi 18:29 For whoso eateth and drinketh my flesh and blood unworthily eateth and drinketh damnation to his soul... |
Moroni 10:8-17 | I Corinthians 12:4-11 |
10:8 And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them. | 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. |
10:9 For behold, to one is given by the Spirit of God, that he may teach the word of wisdom; 10 And to another, that he may teach the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; | 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; |
10:11 And to another, exceedingly great faith; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; | 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; |
10:12 And again, to
another, that he may work mighty miracles; 13 And again,
to another, that he may prophesy concerning all things;
14 And again, to another, the beholding of angels and
ministering spirits; 15 And again, to another, all kinds of tongues; 16 And again, to another, the interpretation of languages and of divers kinds of tongues. |
12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: |
10:17 And all these gifts come by the Spirit of Christ; and they come unto every man severally, according as he will. | 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. |
I Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man... | Moroni 7:16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man... |
I Corinthians 12:3 ...and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. | Moroni 7:44 ...and if a man...confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ... |
I Corinthians 10:13 And
again, to another, that he may prophesy concerning all
things; 14 And again, to another, the beholding of angels
and ministering spirits; 15 And again, to another, all kinds of tongues; 16 And again, to another, the interpretation of languages and of divers kinds of tongues. |
Mormon 9:7
...that there are no revelations, nor prophecies, nor
gifts, nor healing, nor speaking with tongues, and the
interpretation of tongues... III Nephi 29:6 ...by prophecy, or by gifts, or by tongues, or by healings, or by the power of the Holy Ghost! Alma 9:21 Having been visited by the Spirit of God; having conversed with angels, and having been spoken unto by the voice of the Lord; and having the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and also many gifts, the gift of speaking with tongues, and the gift of preaching, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the gift of translation... |
I Corinthians 12:31 ...and yet show I unto you a more excellent way. | Ether 12:11 ...God prepared a more excellent way... |
Moroni 7:45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. | I Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. |
I Corinthians 13:3 ...and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. | Moroni 7:6 ...except he shall do it with real intent it profiteth him nothing. |
I Corinthians 13:2 ...and have not charity, I am nothing. | Moroni 7:44
... for if he have not charity he is nothing... Moroni 7:46 ... if ye have not charity, ye are nothing... |
Moroni 7:46 ...for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail... | I Corinthians 13:8
Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies,
they shall fail... I Corinthians 13:13 ...but the greatest of these [is] charity. |
I Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity. | Moroni 7:1
...which he spake concerning faith, hope, and charity...
Moroni 8:14 ...for he hath neither faith, hope, nor charity... Moroni 10:20 ...there must be faith...there must also be hope...there must also be charity. |
I Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three... | Ether 12:28
...I will show unto them that faith, hope and charity
bringeth unto me... Alma 7:24 And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity... |
I Corinthians 13:2 ...and have not charity, I am nothing. | II Nephi 26:30 ...that all men should have charity, which charity is love. And except they should have charity they were nothing... |
I Corinthians 13:1 ...Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels... | II
Nephi 31:13 ..and then
can ye speak with the tongue of angels... II Nephi 31:14 ...yea, even with the tongue of angels... II Nephi 32:2 ...ye could speak with the tongue of angels? |
Ether 12:34 And now I know that this love which thou hast had for the children of men is charity... |
Moroni 7:47 But charity is the pure love of Christ... |
Moroni 8:17 And I am filled with charity, which is everlasting love... |
II Nephi 26:30 ...all men should have charity, which charity is love... |
Mosiah 16:7-8,10 And if Christ had not risen from the dead...and that death should have no sting...therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ...Even this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption... | I Corinthians 15:14,53-55 And if Christ be not risen, then [is] our preaching vain...O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?...Death is swallowed up in victory...For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. |
Mosiah 5:15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works... | I Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord... |
I Corinthians 15:53-55 ...O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?...Death is swallowed up in victory...For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. | Alma 5:15
...and view this mortal body raised in immortality, and
this corruption raised in incorruption... Alma 12:20 ...that man should rise from the dead and be changed from this mortal to an immortal state... Alma 22:14 ...that the grave shall have no victory, and that the sting of death should be swallowed up in the hopes of glory... Alma 40:2 ...that this mortal does not put on immortality, this corruption does not put on incorruption... Alma 41:4 ...mortality raised to immortality, corruption to incorruption... |
I Corinthians 15:53-55 ...O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?...Death is swallowed up in victory...For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. | Mormon 6:21:
And the day soon cometh that your mortal must put on
immortality, and these bodies which are now moldering in
corruption must soon become incorruptible bodies... Mormon 7:5: ...whereby he hath gained the victory over the grave; and also in him is the sting of death swallowed up. |
Corinthians 15:55 ...For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. | Enos 1:27:
...in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality...
II Nephi 9:7: ...this corruption could not put on incorruption... |
I Corinthians 15:52: ...in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump...and we shall be changed. | III Nephi 28:8: ...ye shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye from mortality to immortality... |
I Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast,
unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in
the Lord. I Corinthians 16:13 ...stand fast in the faith... |
I Nephi 2:10
...firm and steadfast, and immovable in keeping the
commandments of the Lord! Mosiah 5:15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works... Alma 1:25 Now this was a great trial to those that did stand fast in the faith; nevertheless, they were steadfast and immovable... III Nephi 6:14 ...for they were firm, and steadfast, and immovable... |
The ONLY way that Moroni could have quoted from Second Corinthians is if Roman Christians landed someone in the New World, took Paul's epistles with them, learned the Nephite language; all without any mention of this in the Book of Mormon. What are the chances of that?
How Mormons Will Respond To The Evidence
Mormons have and will continue to respond to the evidence in the following ways:
1) Attack me! Make false accusations such as "you're a liar" or "You were excommunciated for adultery and that's why you're fighting against the Church!" Over the years some Mormons have called me a "faggot" (I am not gay), a "liar" (the Mormons I knew lied much more than I ever did), a "child-molestor" (totally false!), and, of course, an "adulterer" who was excommunicated for adultery (false again!). Some Mormons are ALOT like Lucifer--the accuser of his brethren.
2) Ignore the facts! Most will simply "ignore" all the facts, or not read this in the first place. I've had Mormons literally "plug their ears" when I tried to share with them these and other truths. They would literally plug their ears!
3) Mental Gymnastics! A few Mormon intellectuals will try to come up with "explain-aways" to explain-away all these facts, and do it quite lamely but will convince themselves with their totally illogical and contradictory mental gymnastics.
But...about 1 in 1000 Mormons are Seekers of Truth, and, they will read this, and it will eventually convince them. But they must go through the steps (as I did):
*Denial
*Anger
*Depression
*Acceptance
When they finally come to "Acceptance" they'll find happiness! As I did. But the road there will be a long and very painful one. It need not be long and painful. The sooner they accept the facts the sooner they will find acceptance and happiness!
For many years I was HORRIBLY DEPRESSED because of the facts that I had found. I tried for decades to refute these facts, but I could not! I went through years of denial, then anger, then depression. But, finally, I ACCEPTED THE TRUTH, and it felt as if a moutain was taken off my shoulders, and I finally found happiness!
You can find that happiness too.
Is it not time.....to open your eyes?
GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS
There is Good News, and Bad News, for Latter-day Saints. First, the Bad News:
1) Joseph Smith was NOT a true Prophet of God.
2) The Book of Mormon is NOT historical.
3) "The Brethren" are NOT, and never were, Prophets~Seers~Revelators.
4) The Temple Rites have no benefit to the living nor the dead.
5) There is only One God, and you will NOT become a Gods/Goddesses in the eternities.
Do not get angry at God and shake your fist at Him saying, "You deceived me! I will no longer believe in you!" and become an Athiest or Agnostic! God had nothing to do with the plans of Ethan Smith and Joseph Smith. Do not blame God for their deception.
Now, for the Good News:
1) God does exist, Jesus IS the Christ, the Son of God!
2) Doctor Dahesh was a TRUE Prophet of God, and proved that via his thousands of supernatural miracles and hundreds of prophecies; all of which were fulfilled in the minutest detail.
3) Eternal marriage does exist for couples who reach a high level of spirituality; no "sealing power" is needed to achieve this. It comes from within; not from without.
4) The Kingdom of Heaven does exist, and consists of planets in the Galactic Core, and if you "inherit" such a planet, mind controls matter, and whatsoever you can imagine with your mind, that is created for you on that planet. This is not "Godhood" but it is close to what Mormons expect in the Celestial Kingdom.
5) To enter into the Kingdom of Heaven you do NOT need temple rites nor robes nor garments nor sealers nor priesthoods nor tithing nor Sunday meetings nor Word of Wisdom nor priesthood-leaders nor a "Living Prophet"! All you need to do is to do the Will of the Father by practicing THE GOOD RELIGION.
Roman Catholics teach that "all you need" to be saved is to become a Roman Catholic, and partake of the Eucharist (literal body and blood of Jesus) "if" it is blessed by a Roman Catholic priest or a priest "in communion with Rome". Otherwise, you'll burn in Hell forever!
Evangelicals teach that "all you need" to be saved is JESUS; which means:
*Say the Sinners' Prayer
*Believe in your heart Jesus is Lord
*You are saved eternally from Hell-fire!
Of course, they say, as "evidence" you are saved you must speak in tongues, or at least go to a "Bible-believing Church" every Sunday and give the minister money so he can "preach" on Sunday. If you don't do that, it means you're not "really" saved! If you're "Not really saved" then you'll burn in Hell forever!
Daheshism teaches differently! Daheshism teaches that we are "saved" and "exalted" by living the GOOD NEWS: which means: good thoughts/good words/good deeds.
The "Good News" was first preached by Zoroaster of Bactria about 800 B.C. He received it from an Angel called Vohuman, the Son of Ahura Mazda (the Father).
Zoroaster called his religion Vohu Daena; which means "Good Religion" or "Good Message" or "Good News". The Jews learned of the "Good News" while they were slaves in Babylon (600 B.C. to 520 B.C.). The Jews that preached this new "Persian" religion were called "Pharisees" (Hebrew: "Farooshiym" Aramaic: "Farisee") which means "Persians" (because they adopted the "Persian" religion called "Good News"). The Pharisee (Aramaic: "Persian") Jews, those Jews who had adopted the religion of Zoroaster, did not give up the Torah! They were Jews, and thus bound in keeping the covenant with Jehovah. Those who taught others were called "Rabbis".
Jesus was called a "Rabbi"; which means He preached the "Persian" religion which was called "Good News".
The Good Religion teaches that we are all judged by our deeds in life. The more good deed we do, the better the next life with be, and the more bad deeds we do, the worse the next life will be. At the Judgment our good and bad deeds are weighed, and if our good deeds outweigh our bad deeds then we go to the House of Ahura Mazda (Kingdom of Heaven), but if our bad deeds outweigh out good deeds, we return to the House of Lies (i.e. this world of suffering).
In the Good Religion, there is the belief that after death we all come to a Bridge; which is call the Chinvat Bridge, or "Bridge of Separation". We must cross the Bridge in order to enter the House of Ahuza Mazda (the Kingdom of Heaven). If our good deeds outweigh out bad deeds, then we may cross the Bridge, but if our bad deeds outweigh our good deeds, then the bridge will become as thin as a sword (the sharp edge), and we fall into a lake of fire.
Zoroaster predicted the coming of three Saoshyants ("Saviors") all born of virgins.
The "Three Wise Men" who appeared in Bethlehem to worship the baby Jesus were "Magoi". They were followers of the Good Religion of Zoroaster.
The last "Saoshyant" according to Zoroastrian prophecy would be called "Shah Bahram". In the 19th century, a Parsee boy from Bombay India claimed he was this third virgin-born Savior. He birthname was Bahramshah Scroff. He taught that the Chinvat Bridge was not literally, but figurative. He taught that to cross the Chinvat Bridge meant to escape the Wheel of Rebirth (reincarnation), but to fall into the Lake of Fire meant to return to the "House of Lies"; which means this planet. Bahramshah taught that the Earth (as all terrestrial planets) was "the House of Lies". Burning in hell-fire is a "symbol" of reincarnation. We are born, and the Sun burns our skin and causes us to suffer, get old, and die. His teachings are called Ilm-i-Kshnoom ("The Wisdom of Inner Peace").
The Good News, taught to Zoroaster by Vohuman, the Son of Ahura Mazda, in 800 B.C. became known as the Good Religion. Today, in the East, it is called Mazdayaznan ("Mazda-worshipping"), or Beh Deen ("Good Religion"). In the West, it is called "Zoroastrianism". It is a very simple religion! It teaches that all we must do to avoid Hell (i.e. to be saved) is to practice the Good Religion:
That is all! There are no "magicial formulas" that save or exalt us such as Transsubstantiation, nor the Sinners' Prayer, nor obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Mormon Church! All these "magical formulas" were invented by ignorant men who could work no miracles!
Doctor Dahesh did work thousands of supernatural miracles! Why? Because Doctor Dahesh was Jesus reincarnated!
I know....you've been taught that reincarnation is "a doctrine of the Devil"! But, look at the source of that teaching:
*Joseph Smith: a man who married dozens of women, mothers and their own daughtes, sisters, his own foster daughters, while at the same time denied he was a polygamist, and publicly condemned polygamy! A man who prophesied that a Mormon temple would be build in Independence, Missouri, during the generation living in 1832. A man who prophesied that several of his apostles would live until the coming of the Son of Man. A man who twice "prophesied in the name of the Lord and let it be written" that the coming of the Son of Man could be in the year 1891! How many failed prophecies can a true Prophet have? Why do you trust him?
*Brigham Young: a man who taught that thieves, adulterers, and apostates had to have their throats cut to save them, a men who taught Negroes were cursed and inferior andcreated to be servants of the white man, a man who taught that the Civil War would not free the Negroes, a man who taught that inter-racial couples must be "killed on the spot" along with their children! Why do you trust him?
*Joseph Fielding Smith: a man who taught that Negroes were "an inferior race" and that all those living in 1832 would not die until a Mormon Temple was constucted in Independence Missouri (still has not happened), and a man who taught that humans would "never" land of the Moon! Why do you trust him?
*Gordon B. Hinckley: a man who denied publicly that the Church teaches God was once a man, a man who, for 5 years, personally met with Mark Hofmann, a man who forged documents and later killed two innocent people, so that he (Hinckley) could hide documents making Joseph Smith look bad from the Press and from Members. You can read about this in the book The Mormon Murders by Gregory White Smith.
Mark Hofmann meets with Hinckley at least two dozen times so that Hinckley can personally buy documents from Hofmann to hide them, and then tell the Media: "The Church never bought any such documents!"
On his way to blow up a third innocent person, Hofmann drops a bomb as he is getting out of his car. Police immediately suspect him as the bomber, but it takes many months to build their case.
Hofmann is arrested for the murders of two people by pipe-bombs; one of them suspected he was
forging them. He killed a second person because he wanted to throw off suspician from police. When Hinckley was notified that Hofmann was arrested he said: "You're got the wrong man! Brother Hofmann is innocent!"
Hofmann eventually confesses to the forgeries and murders and is given 15 years to life.
The true story of the Hofmann forgeries and murders
and how the Church tired to cover-up
Hofmann's "discoveries" and helped Hofmann secure a
secret illegal bank loan is told in the book The Mormon Murders; available online or in most public
libraries and bookstores in the United States and Canada.
WHY do you TRUST or BELIEVE such men or the spiritual successors of such men?
I can assure you that "The Brethren" are NOT Prophets~Seers~Revelators. They do not prophesy~see~revelate! They have no "Spirit of Discernment" as they claim to have. They have covered-up things in Mormon history. Even today, they are denying that the Church "ever taught" that black people are cursed and the children of Cain. They lie! They are NOT "Men of God". You need not be afraid of them. They have no authority from God. The Melchizedek Priesthood comes from the Zionitic Brotherhood; a Rosicrucian monastic cloister in Ephrata, Pennsylvania that Peter Whitmer once belonged to. The Zionitic Brotherhood wore white clothing, had a rite wherein the Garden of Eden story was reinacted, and performed baptisms for the dead in a round temple.
He who has eyes, let him see!
The "Angel Moroni" that appeared to Joseph Smith in 1823 (the same year that View of the Hebrews was published), and gave Joseph Smith the "gold plates" in September of 1827 (the same year and month that Ethan Smith was in Palmyra), was a mortal man; not an immortal angel!
The three "Angels" (Peter, James, and John) that ordained Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery to the Melchizedek Priesthood in 1829 were Peter Whitmer Sr. (father of David Whitmer and 7 of the 8 Witnesses of the Book of Mormon), his brother James and his son John!
Mormonism is a PIOUS FRAUD!
And a "fraud" cannot save you, much less "exalt you" among the Gods.
The prophecies of Mormon prophets have all failed! The Brethren can perform no miracles. They make no prophecies! Mormon "prophets" have taught in the past the following doctrines:
*Negroes are inferior and cursed
*Negroes will not receive the Priesthood in mortal life
*The Sun and Moon are inhabited just as the Earth
*The Second Coming will be in 1891.
*A Temple will be built in Jackson County before all those living in 1832 are dead.
*The lost tribes are living at the North Pole.
*The Gulf of Mexico is where the City of Enoch had been before it was translated.
*Reincarnation is a doctrine of the Devil.
Please tell me why you believe a WORD they tell you?
CONCLUSION
Doctor Dahesh performed thousands of supernatural miracles, and prophesied hundreds of direct detailed prophecies, all of which came true!
Daheshism teaches that organized religion is NOT necessary to be "saved"! All that is necessary to be saved is to practice the Good Religion, and anyone, of any religion or no religion, can practice the Good Religion.
It is adherence to the "Good News" that saves us and exalts us; nothing else. The Atheist who does "More Good" than the Christian or Muslim will get a greater reward than they, in the Afterlife.
No temples are temple rites are needed in the Good Religion. No priesthoods or priesthood-leaders are needed. No Sunday "block" of meetings are needed. No payment of tithes and offerings are needed; unless those offerings are "good deeds" that help the poor and needy (Mormon tithing does NOT go to help the poor--not even the Mormon poor!). All that is needed is this:
1) You hear the Good News (good thoughts/good words/good deeds)
2) You live the Good News (practice it daily)
That is all! All the other trappings of religion such as temples and churches and rituals and priesthoods; all these were invented by sinful little men, who could do no supernatural miracles. They are the inventions and commandments of men!
Dr. Dahesh taught that ORGANIZED RELIGION (with ministers, temples, rituals, etc.) was necessary when most people were superstitious and ignorant (illiterate), but those things are no longer necessary! All that is necessary is to DO the Will of the Father by living the Good Religion on a daily basis!. That is ALL that is now required!
Dear Reader, a "Church" built upon "pious fraud" cannot exalt you among the Gods! A lie cannot save you, nor can it "exalt" you! It can only "fool" you and mislead you. Cease following uninspired foolish men! Jesus has come again...follow HIM!
My testimony to YOU is that JESUS has come again, with a NEW NAME! And that new name is DAHESH
Go in Peace!
